One of the many things I enjoy about working at kindergarten is the professional learning opportunities that we get to go on, that helps inform and elevate our teaching practice, skills and knowledge and keep up to date with. Our kindergarten kaupapa of, whanaungatanga, ukaipōtanga and manaakitanga reflects our local curriculum at Merle Leask and the ways we work alongside whānau, aiga, families to create a holistic and culturally responsive learning environment for all tamariki.

When I am not working, I love spending time and connecting with my aiga and friends whenever I can, which also helps my hauora, well-being.

I enjoy building meaningful relationships with tamariki and their whānau, and working together to create a positive and engaging learning experience at Merle Leask Kindergarten. It’s incredibly fulfilling to witness the growth of tamariki and experience the joy that comes with earning their trust and acceptance. It’s so much fun to inspire the children and create a super engaging learning environment! I love being a part of their learning journey here at Merle Leask Kindergarten.

When I’m not teaching, you can find me on adventures with my two friendly golden retrievers, or spending quality time with loved ones.

I enjoy working at Merle Leask Kindergarten as I am passionate about education, equity and play based learning. Merle Leask Kindergarten embraces all tamariki and encourages them to participate in the kindergarten programme in a way that suits them as an individual. Through building strong relationships with each child and their whānau I aim to provide the best start to education that I can. I enjoy getting to know tamariki in their own time and help them to build on their pre existing knowledge. Also Merle Leask is a lot fun.
