What makes kindergarten special for me is the focus on play based child led learning with 100% qualified teachers,  supported by a professional organization that is undoubtedly an integral part of the local community.

My hobbies and interests outside of work include a whole variety of  water sports (kayaking, jetskiing and pedalboarding) and I LOVE gardening.

Ashburton Kindergartens are doing everything for kids, but not for profit. Its close connection with parents, whānau and the community also make it special. I feel very blessed to join the amazing team to provide quality education to the tamariki.

I love gardening and enjoy creating a beautiful garden for my family. Gardening is not only a hobby for me, but also a great way of relaxing.

Aubrey Mason Kindergarten is incredibly special to me. It’s where I went as a child, and now I have the privilege of returning as a teacher.

I believe what makes our kindergarten so special is the strong sense of belonging we create. I love that our learning environment is intentionally set up so that each tamariki can lead their own learning within their play.

As a not-for-profit kindergarten, our focus is always on the children and our community. For me, it’s the relationships between kaiako, tamariki, and whānau that make this place so special.

I enjoy being in nature and gardening!

Greece! I dream of exploring the Greek islands during a hot Europe summer.

I attended kindergarten when I was younger, and have had the opportunity to work alongside teachers who taught me! That in itself is special to me and shows that Ashburton Kindergartens have a great sense of community- my son will be coming to kindergarten too. I love that children are the heart and soul of all we do, I believe this shows in our environments and relationships between kaiako, tamariki and whānau.

Outside of work you’ll find me spending time with friends and family! I enjoy reading a good book, a walk in the sun and iced coffee!

Bridget

The non-profit nature of a kindergarten education is what I firmly believe all children in New Zealand should receive. I started as a reliever for AKA, and I could feel in each one that children are truly at the heart of kindergartens.

Outside of work I can be found in the garden, out in nature with my family or doing something crafty. I go to pottery classes and dabble in lots of other artistic mediums.
