Our Fee Policy
At all Ashburton kindergartens, there is a fee of $16.00 for morning session, $8.00 for afternoon session and $32.00 for 6 hour/day session.
This fee will not apply to any of your Free Hours. (See Below)
20 Hours Free - Free Early Childhood Education
The Government offers up to 20 hours of free early childhood education per week, up to six hours a day, for 3 to 4 year olds.
No fees are involved but parents can be asked for donations.
- The number of Free ECE hours for your child will depend on the places available for 3 and 4 year olds in your area.
- You need to apply for Free ECE by completing an Attestation Form provided by your kindergarten.
- In addition, some parents will be eliglible for the Childcare Subsidy available for low and moderate income families. Contact Work and Income for more information.
- If you are not covering all of your child’s hours at Kindergarten with Free ECE, then you will be required to pay a fee for the other hours/sessions.
- We will not be charging a fee for any two-year-old at Kindergarten, providing their family has agreed that they will use their Free ECE hours at Kindergarten once the child turns three.
- We will not be charging a fee for any five-year-old at Kindergarten, if they have been using their Free ECE hours at Kindergarten before they turned five.
- We will not have any extra charges at Kindergarten. You will not need to pay for excursions, profile books etc.
